Position Summary:
The Hyperbaric Chamber Technician will operate hyperbaric chambers and provide direct patient care support in our specialized hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) and wound care clinic. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented, safety-minded individual who thrives in a specialized clinical setting and is eager to develop expertise in hyperbaric medicine. Training is available for qualified applicants.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare, operate, and monitor hyperbaric oxygen chambers during patient treatment sessions according to established safety guidelines and physician orders.
Educate and orient patients and their families regarding hyperbaric treatment processes, safety protocols, and expectations.
Perform pre- and post-treatment patient assessments, including vital signs and ear inspections for barotrauma.
Maintain strict adherence to hyperbaric safety standards, emergency procedures, and infection control protocols.
Accurately document treatment parameters, patient responses, and chamber operational logs in the clinic's EMR system.
Clean, sanitize, and inspect hyperbaric chambers and associated equipment before and after each patient use.
Assist providers and clinical staff with patient movement, transfer, and general wound care clinic needs as required.
Manage clinic inventory related to hyperbaric supplies, oxygen systems, and safety gear.
Support clinic staff with administrative duties, including scheduling and coordinating treatment plans.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; previous experience in a clinical setting (EMT, CNA, MA, or Respiratory Therapist) preferred. Other experience will be considered.
Willingness to complete hyperbaric safety and technician training/certification (provided upon hire).
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to provide compassionate, reassuring care.
High attention to detail and a strong commitment to clinical safety procedures.
Proficiency in using electronic medical record (EMR) systems and general computer skills.
Enthusiasm to learn and grow within a specialized, advanced medical field.
